Information is everywhere, shaping our discourses and our thoughts. In everyday life, we know that the information spread by the media may trigger deep social, economic and political changes. In science, the concept of information has pervaded almost all scientific disciplines, from physics and chemistry to biology and psychology. For this reason, nowadays the understanding of the concept of information turns out to be particularly relevant (see Floridi 2010).
