Studies of international film production have often considered the importance of location shooting. Many such studies, particularly those focusing on Hollywood, have detailed the processes of “runaway production” that structure the global movement of screen capital. These movements facilitate links between a globalized network of production sites, with far-reaching consequences for labor, finance, and representation (see Elmer and Gasher 2005).
