Analysis of the development of electoral campaigns and political advertising in democratic Poland perfectly parallels the three phases of the evolution of the US campaign environment – the newspaper age (premodern era), the television age (modern era) and the digital age (postmodern era) (Farrell, Kolodny, & Medvic, 2001). The main difference between the US and Poland is the amount of time it took for those stages to evolve. In the US, it took about two centuries, in Poland – just over two decades.
