Abstract

Educational effectiveness and improvement research (EEIR) demonstrates that schools and teachers can make a significant difference to all students’ development, progress, and achievement. As other chapters in this volume show, policymakers’ use of research findings has been significant in some countries. But effectiveness researchers also want their findings to be used by practitioners as a basis for improving schools and classrooms. This has proven to be a challenge.
