Abstract

This chapter works toward a digital cultural rhetoric framework for rhetoric and composition studies. To do so, this chapter provides a working definition for digital cultural rhetorics, outlines some foundational values of digital cultural rhetorics scholarship, and demonstrates what those values look like in practice. Modest, tentative, and productive in nature, this offering is intended to inspire future conversations and generate revised methodologies for studying and thus making claims about digital rhetoric in general and, more specifically, digital cultural rhetoric. Ultimately, this chapter calls for a digital cultural rhetorics approach to digital rhetorics scholarship so that we better understand how our research constructs our scholarly selves, our disci plinary community, and others who might (not) imagine themselves part of our community.
