June the twelfth, 1967, the Supreme Court renders a unanimous decision. Hear ye, say they, we find the state of Virginia guilty. We indict discrimination and segregation in this co-conspiracy and hereby set free our Loving citizens: husband Richard Loving, white, wife Mildred, African- and Native-American. Justices White and Black—no fabrication—join Clark, Fortas, Douglas, Stewart, Brennan, Harlan, and Warren to strike down prohibitions to miscegenation as violations of fourteenth amendment protections. 1 Hear ye.
