Abstract

Religious naturalism (hereafter RN) is not so much a religion as it is a philosophical proposal for the recreation and redefinition of what counts as religion in light of the ascendency and productivity of science. As Primack and Abrams note in Chapter 9 in this volume:

One thing that has become clear from the highly counter-intuitive nature of the scientific universe is that most of the imagery and concepts familiar from biblical and other origin stories cannot describe it.
