Abstract

The Mental Health (MHC), Behavioral Consultation (BC), Conjoint Behavioral Consultation (CBC), Instructional Consultation/Instructional Consultation Teams (IC/ICT), and Organizational Development Consultation (ODC) models highlighted in this section of the Handbook are frequently practiced in schools and taught in university training programs (Anton-LaHart & Rosenfield, 2004; Costenbader, Swartz, & Petrix, 1992; Meyers, Wurtz, & Flanagan, 1981). The five selected models also are extensively represented in the educational and psychological consultation literature and research. The available research continues to inform our consultation practice and teaching while also guiding future research. The goals of this chapter are to reflect briefly on the models’ characteristics, discuss the process and outcome research as reflected in the five chapters in this section, and provide suggestions for future consultation research.
