For over 60 years, mobile technology has been part of the museum-going experience (Proctor, 2011). Audio tours started in the late 1950s, with clunky technology that offered learners a linear audio commentary. As technology changed, the linear tour model changed too. More recent iterations allowed visitors to select their tracks, giving the learner more control and an improved learning experience.
