Abstract

Pulsed combustion spray drying is a form of spray drying that is well suited for the drying of slurries of encapsulated materials. The atomization method employed in pulsed combustion drying is the key to good results on encapsulates. Scientists from Appvion Encapsys group recognized this feature and conducted the initial drying trials in the fall of 2006. These results were promising and provided the foundation of a long relationship between Pulse Combustion Systems (PCS) and Encapsys.
