Flexible supercapacitors (FSCs) with high energy density, low cost, and long life are required for the sustainable future of flexible portable electronics. In this regard, carbon-based materials like carbon nanotubes, graphene, and mesoporous carbon, having large surfaces and high electrical and mechanical stability are recognized as ideal electrode materials for FSCs. There has also been great attention for the carbon-based-solid state FSCs, such as wearable, bendable, transparent, small, and integrated devices with artistic merits, including various structural characteristics and excellent performance. This chapter presents an overview of current advancements in the fabrication of carbon-based FSCs. Additionally, both the challenges and prospects associated with the development of FSCs at a commercial level are highlighted.
