Abstract

One of the objectives of the information disciplines is to study the universe of recorded information—that is, to study the documentary products of domains of human activity—and to come to understand such bodies of literature as social and historical phenomena in and of themselves. Schaefer reviews the history of mathematics from ancient times, and discusses the forms of mathematics literature, and their transformations, through time.
