Abstract

Electromagnetic radiations which do not cause ionization in biological systems are termed as “non-ionizing.” The eye is the primary organ at risk to all of the non-ionizing radiations. This entry focuses on ultraviolet (UV) radiation, lasers, and microwave radiation, with an overview on visible and infrared (IR) radiations.
